Right, this is gonna be a list of basic rules and whatnot for making characters. You've probably seen stuff like these a million times on other forums, so I'm gonna try and keep this brief:
1. NO MARY SUES/GARY STUS WHATSOEVER. Look over your character's profile very carefully before posting and ask yourself if it fits the criteria in the profile template. If it does, you can post it. If not, you'll need to edit it a bit more before it can be accepted.
2. NO GODMODDING. This basically means no killing or severely wounding another person's character unless they say so or unless it makes sense in regards to the plot. We can't have every Tom, Dick, and Harry running around killing off Fey or other creatures like they're in a zombie apocalypse game.
3. DON'T MAKE YOUR CHARACTER OVERLY ANGSTY. Being angsty is normally ok, but there's a fine line between "I have mental/physical/parental issues that are a part of my character" and what Tv Tropes calls "Wangst". Make sure you don't fall into the latter category.
4. BE RESPECTFUL TO OTHER FORUMGOERS AND TO THE STAFF. Being a jerk to everybody on the forum is not cool. It's ok if you're having a bad day and need to vent for one reason or another, but if you repeatedly try to start arguments and/or insult people...well, in the slightly paraphrased words of JonTron, we ain't havin' that shit.
5. USE PROPER GRAMMAR. We're not asking for 100% perfection here, but at the very least, please aim for coherent sentences. Also, paragraph spacing is your best friend.
6. NO ONE OR TWO SENTENCE POSTS. This is normally considered lazy unless the poster has a very good reason for it.
And that's it. If other staff members need to add any rules, feel free to edit them in.
